Went to a garage sale this morning. Was about to leave empty handed, but then noticed this guy sitting on a cabinet in the background, so I inquired about it. He said he bought a new surround sound system at Costco about a month ago and his wife wanted him to throw this one out. He said it still worked fine, so he put it out there for a garage radio. Had a beat up old PA speaker hooked up to it. He said $40 and I could have it. I gave him $50. I think I made out pretty well. Now to decide whether or not I’ll be keeping it or not.

cosmetic condition made me question me the purchase but ultimately decided to give it a gamble. unfortunately the sl600 “satellites” weren’t donated but the active crossover was, and when these were new celestion sold just the sub pair for $3,000.

haven’t tested yet but hoping I’ve finally found the perfect low end complement to my trusty magnepans.

here’s a write up on the technology:

I was looking at one of those not even 5 minutes ago being sold by a guy that bought my Sansui last week. Similar- this is the dolby version for sale.

A few keepers this week for me. These are slip ons. Had no black shoes in my closet so these should fill a void.

Estate sale find. Old Church's boots. Still in great shape and while a little big for me I think these will work with a thick pair of socks.

Two of the Ohio dudes decide to start posting again and you just so happen to move to my hood... Congrats on the new job! I've got a lot of friends and family who work there.
We used to have quite a few Ohio people on here. I know personally I don’t thrift like I used to. If I find something good I usually send it to Spoo.

I made my wife play the guessing game on what she thought the retail cost of that LP vest was and she just kept going up and up and didn’t believe me when I told her the cost, had to pull up a similar one from their website to prove it.

She started at $120 and said that was too much lol.
