Latest project: 6-chair mid-century dining set. Chairs and table aren't from the same maker. I put them together and put new fabric on the seats. Taken down to bare wood and completely redone.

I like how in the record world.. the really valuable records are all obscure stuff that nobody (except guys who are REALLY into vinyl) have heard of... Whereas all the hit records from notable bands we all love like Led Zeppelin, Beatles, etc are basically worthless unless mint condition first pressings.

There's definitely a "look and feel" that the good records have, that you train your eyes to look for.. But many records I have to pull em all out of the stack, put in my cart and then at the end of my visit I'll sit for like 20 mins looking them all up and inevitably put them all back due to low value.

Other day I heard something that almost made me sick - I was at a store and overheard some employees talking.. Apparently they got a donation that morning of about 200+ records, all "older stuff in plastic slip covers". They said a record seller came in and was flipping out and had a whole cart full.. Then another guy came in and bought himself a cart full too.. Meaning that by the time I got there there was nothing left. Timing is everything!

I haven’t been thrifting much at all in the past 2-3 weeks. I stopped in briefly at a Savers this week and apparently have gotten rusty in such a short period of time off. 2 major screw ups. First, paid $17 for a Gorgio Armani suit in my size. But forgot to check the pants and when I got home saw the big hole right near the zipper. Womp womp.
Second mistake was forgetting about the vintage Hartmann Luggage briefcase while at self checkout because I got distracted and sat it on the floor next to me. At least I didn’t pay for it ($6), but was very pissed when I got home and realized my mistake, especially after discovering the hole in the suit pants.
