I bought a pair of shoes on Vinted for 10 euros, marked as Prada. While the stamping looks original, I still have some doubts because there are no other markings. It almost seems like it could be an early sample or something similar.

My main concern is the soles. I think they’re made of some kind of rubber, and I’m wondering if I should add another layer of soles to protect them. Is there a way to prevent them from cracking, or is it too late to save them?

Found a few things today. Starting off with the N/A stuff.

I don’t think I’ve found this many pairs of selvedge, let alone in my size, in probably the last decade of thrifting.

The rest is available, besides maybe the belt (been a while for a sterling find too)…

Didn’t notice some issues with these in my haste to keep moving. Would love to trade for a pair in my size if anyone’s interested.

Hey everyone! New SF member and first time poster so bear with me here. I’ve really enjoyed going back in the thread and seeing some of the same stuff i like to thrift/find - so i grabbed a few recent finds to post! I’ve read enough to know about the 10% rule here so these are all true thrift. Hope you enjoy!

Starting off with a banger, got this mohair darned by a local repair shop recently

This is the label i looked up after grabbing it that lead me to this awesome thread in the first place. Nothing crazy but a nice silk/cashmere blend.

Chunky eddie bauer cotton, the shaker stitch one is made in usa, the black one has a nice detail with the larger V stitch on the back collar as well!

Ladies (?) size 42 wool/silk blend for my significant other

Obligatory ties i’ll never wear one day

Last one is an older estate sale find,
i am about to put new buttons on it after putting it off for way too long. Had the shredded liner replaced and asked the tailor to keep the cool old label inside - it said “Styled by Paulo” or something like that but she threw it away- she did a great job otherwise. Gotta be 40s/50s? Not sure.

Really meant to be more active in the thread this year. Had a basement flood in the spring and then months later the same day the rehab was complete I did something stupid in a rec league hockey game and tore my labrum in a shoulder dislocation. Finished my 20th and final rehab session for that last week. Being one handed didn't stop me from thrifting of course.

Had some free time today to get into the 2024 backlog. These first six I found on Friday. Love finding someone's custom collection. One Oxxford and the rest Tom James. Wish it was the other way around, but at least it's all the higher TJ lines and all H&S cloth. First three have to be at least a cashmere blend if not 100%.

Pains me that it's likely that the most profitable thing to do here would be to rip off the Holland & Sherry buttons and sell them separately. Last time I found the lion buttons they sold for $100 in less than a week. The lining is just so cool I feel like I have to try to sell it altogether for at least a little while.
