Damn that Zileri checks all the boxes for a "highend gentlemans sporting jacket" - Good lapel notches, ticket pocket, suede elbow patches.. probably single or double vented I'm guessing. And that gun club check tops it off. Very nice.

That credenza is $$$
I would have killed for those chairs not too long ago. And that credenza as well

I ended up going back to that sale this morning. I liked the chairs too but they need some professional TLC.Apparently back in the day when people retired they got to take their office furniture home with them as this is all from 3M HQ in the twin cities.
Snagged the credenza, waste basket and 2 walnut letter trays for $150

This is totally not exciting, but question for the class... My wife and I recently got back from a UK trip. She noticed girls rockin clean white trainers and wanted some.

The thrift provides. Nearly new stan smiths... Also some low mileage AF-1, but seemingly worn without socks.

My laziness tempts me to dump the AF-1s in a bucket with oxyclean. Will that either **** up the leather or turn the soles yellow?

Or just suck it up with oxyclean and a toothbrush?

I have had some good finds recently and will post up some shortly, but I do have a question.

anybody by chance recognize the attached logo? Inside of purse I found. No tags, YKK zippers, Aztec-ish print with leather accents.

Thanks! View attachment 1810214

ALRIGHT, after3+ days of scouring the internet, reverse image searches that turned up NOTHING, etc. This logo I stumbled upon I actually finally stumbled on the answer tonight.

It is a turkish Kilim bag, and the logo is a YA (not XXY or anything like that). The maker is Yun Art.

And for the price I paid...which was single digit... a good buy!

So for anyone that stumbles upon this in the small chance you do, there is your answer! They sell, in this size, for around 60-80, so it is a good buy if cheap!

So you're mostly wanting to clean the insides and freshen them up.

If the soles are removable, remove them and scrub with Oxyclean and wash separate. If they're really glued in then spray a ton of OC in there, scrub with a brush and rinse.. Then throw into a washing machine, or if you want to be gentle a large bucket of warm water and soak/agitate regularly.

The leather isn't going to get messed up unless you're really rough and wrinkle em up. I've washed a ton of white sneakers this way and they usually come back to almost new looking.

The point at which Leather is most at risk is the Drying phase. You'll want to stuff the shoes with clean paper towels at the toes to keep their shape while drying. And be sure to dry them slowly, maybe near a heater, but NEVER in direct sunlight as that can yellow the **** out of them.

Thank you. yes, exactly. When i bought the AF1, I THOUGHT the lining was gray. Um, nope. Was white at one point.

Insoles are removable.

So basically dump the shoes into a bucket of warm water and oxy? Just don't want to have anything "yellow". I suppose I could just use regular dish soap in the bucket? Maybe a touch of oxy in the mix?

Leather itself is pretty gleaming white (will be even more so with a round of terrago white shoe cream). It's the fabric lining that's kinda gross.

^ I'd still advise no direct sunlight on fabrics after you wash em. The oxidization and UV exposure will yellow Whites in many cases.

So basically dump the shoes into a bucket of warm water and oxy? Just don't want to have anything "yellow". I suppose I could just use regular dish soap in the bucket? Maybe a touch of oxy in the mix?

If the insoles are removable I take them out and hose em down with Liquid OxyClean spray, let sit 5-10 mins and then scrub/rinse. Those you can just lay on a dry towel or washcloth and they dry quickly, as they're just foam and a thin layer of top fabric. The shoes I also hose down with OC and let sit, scrub, rinse, scrub, soak, rinse and then dry. You can do the shoes in a bucket by hand, or throw in a washing machine (though they do get a little banged up in the machine sometimes).

Yellowing will almost always occur as a result of time, sunlight/UV exposure and oxidation. The yellowing will happen in the outsole/midsole of most nikes. It can be fixed by various methods like the "Saloncare 40 / Plastic Wrap / UV Light" fix.

*Edit*

Just to show an example of what my Oxyclean process achieves on an average pair:
