This jacquard workshirt plagued my dreams for years, and then I finally saw it magically appear on EBay for nearly double its msrp… stoked to nab it but damn, a certain flipper definitely knew how bad I wanted it!

Originally sold in Spring 17, it also had a cameo appearance in fall 19. It’s an awesome, thick, comfortable and warm overshirt fit. I don’t normally untuck but that bottom hem detail is just too beautiful not to sport.
Very nice. It took me a minute to realize you were mirroring the image of the guy below you wearing the same shirt and hat! And yeah, it seems that bottom pattern is meant to be seen.

Thanks for the history on this one, snagged it a while ago but never found it in the look books. Maybe mine is unwashed because it almost looks closer to a dark purple or chocolate color than brown.

Your photo is much more accurate than the ones I posted. The light bulbs in this room give me a lousy CRI. My shirt is actually the same color as yours.
I don't know if they were doing look books back when this one came out?

Was watching Shrinking season 2 on Apple TV.

One of the new recurring characters was wearing RRL.

Im the same way. Concho button a must but even more than that is the cuffs have to have the 3 plus 1 snaps. I will not buy anything less. I've seen some beautiful western shirts from Japan and they have two snaps on the cuff and a button closure or snap right above it. I think Iron Heart is one? But nah, can't do it.
I didn't think to include this in my earlier photos, but the brown sawtooth has four snaps on the cuff, and overall different construction. IMG_2834.JPG

There are still some new items that came out on Dec. 15 that can only be found at ralphlauren.com>search>rrl>new releases. They are not on the main RRL site. Does anyone know if it sometimes happens that certain items never make it over to the main page, or do they always appear eventually? This is the first year I've ever known about searching the other way; I always assumed everything was included on the main page.

RRL website has always been bad compared to the prices of the products : pages not loading, sometimes not all products displayed for some unknown reason, not all the sizes charts provided, colors are sometimes really off, prototypes being displayed in place of the actual final version.

But we are lucky to have this place where we can ask questions :)

It’s been this way for years. I got into the habit of just using men->all clothing and filtering on brand and sorting by new arrivals.

What do you guys think of the pre-distressed pieces across PRL/RRL/RLPL? I.e. those that are made to look already well-worn, e.g. bomber jackets, belts, trousers. Any first-hand ownership experiences to share?

I dont know if this meets your requirements but this chore jacket is very soft and comfortable and looks aged and after a lot of consideration VS cheaper options at Carhartt, I realized, I prefered the one which looked old, all the more the length is more the one of a suit jacket / old chore clothes than the Carhartt ones which are too modern construction site vibe to me. If that makes sense to you...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
