Is a leather shirt clever? I have doubts. Even Jim Morrison shouldn't have been wearing leather pants. What is the leather equivalent of the Canadian Tuxedo? There is a patchouli supply shop in Berkeley CA that sells "leather socks" so you might try picking up a pair of those to match. It's just a few blocks from a French bakery that makes everyone stand in line for 30-60 minutes for a croissant, perfect place to be "spotted" in a neck-to-toes leather jerkin ensemble. Frock on!

I don't understand this. Did you call your local store and ask them to ship it to you from their stock for $34 plus $25 shipping? Or did you physically go to your local store and the SA ordered one for you from the RL website for those same dollar amounts? And did you take delivery on the shirt for the $59 total? Thanks for clarifying; maybe I'm the only one who didn't understand it. (I'm actually not looking to buy one, but just wondering how you got this to work.)
I did it all on ralphlauren.com. If an item is in stock at a RL store that is close enough to your delivery address, one of the shipping options at checkout is same day delivery for $25. When you pick this option, RL uses DoorDash for delivery. I paid a total of $59 ($34 for the the shirt plus $25 shipping).

I feel the same way about leather shirts and pants, but I can't say that I've ever considered leather socks!

I'm planning to wear it as a suede overshirt. Not something I'll wear every day, but enough to get fifty-nine dollars' worth out of it. The sheep suede it's made of is something else -- much softer than the cow suede RRL uses.

The sateen work shirt from the Cultizm sale. I love inky blue shirts, and this fits the bill.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
