This raises a philosophical question for @WaltDud
If one gets a second pair of these in a different shade, does that count as a backup?

And speaking of olive jeans, my pair of LE vintage fits from Cultism shipped. Also their BF sale is up to 30% now. BW30 code.

Canoe Club EABF24 for 30% going on now.
If I was forced to pick a position, I would say no. Backup pairs must be the exact same haha

Paris store is running a private sale from yesterday to Monday.

Also, I finally solved a question I had when I visited the stores over the last months : these jeans have pretty big color variation depending on the production batch, which is a quality issue but potentially also an opportunity if we want two different colors.

Anyone got the darker version and already washed it ? Did it remain dark / brown or turned back to the intended color light / more olivish color after one / a few washes ?
But those look like like two different colors, no?

The olive:

and brown:

I remember people complaining that the olive was more brown than it is green a while back..

Wore the brown ones yesterday. Thought they seem more olive than brown. 🤷‍♂️

I really like both of these. I am disappointed with the zip fly. I can’t get past that.

Same, never spending above $50 for zip flies
That's the "opposite" for me : buttons fly will at best make disgracious fades, sometimes stretch in a weird way so the buttons appears, and sometimes the holes break...
Whats the matter with zip fly if they are of good quality if you would share please ?

I think the olive one are some kind of very light brown (but I am not so sure what the olive color is really supposed to be), while the brown ones are greenish...

For sure there are no real deep brown jeans in the collection except these faulty ones that so far nobody mentioned to have bought...I might go for them anyway and report back as I always wash my jeans as soon as I buy them.

This season’s brown ones are quite nice. Fabric is reasonably heavy. I’d prefer button fly with leather patch but zip fly isn’t a deal killer. And they do seem olive color.

Frankly, I can't fathom laying out that much money for such a basic, plain-looking sweater.

s7-AI782942990002_lifestyle

The waffle knit is launched as a cotton-wool mix. €395 versus around €650 I think in the previous rendition in cashmere. I got that one in navy, but this olive one is beautiful. And although the amount of navy in my wardrobe would love to say otherwise, olive is a color that suits my skin hue better than navy. This will be a must buy.

For me, there is a lot of good stuff this season!

I have the navy cashmere sweater, and everyone agrees (including my wife) that it is excellent and one of the best RRL (or Ralph Lauren overall) pieces I own. I am thinking of getting the black at some point. The sweaters aren’t “basic” - the navy cashmere one has weaves of lighter blue that gives it a lot of texture. The black one seems to have weaves of brown. These have long been some of the best pieces RRL has made. I do wonder why they switched from cashmere to wool/cotton (maybe to alleviate concerns about the price)
