Is this sale US exclusive? Bit out of the loop.

RE my question about heel slippage with RRL chelseas. Went to a cobbler and he told me that's common with those kind of shoes and nothing much one can do about it. However, should anyone know of a solution or trick that can reduce the heel slippage ... please let me know :). Will just deal with in the meantime.

Are RRL boots intentionally much wider in the heels because they are intended for cowboys/horse riders? I read something about Western boots being wider in the heels to prevent someone from being dragged by a horse in case they fall off their horse. Or something like that:laugh:😭
Fairly certain the sale is a US only thing. They've been doing it off and on for many years. Usually called a customer appreciation event or similar. An SA will invite you but I think if you know about the offer and contact an SA they'll give you the offer.

RE: Chelsea boots, you've described the fit of most all Chelsea boots, at least when new. They're kind of like loafers in terms of heel slip in that as you wear them in, the sole will flex more and heel slip will improve. *Maybe* a half or full insert would help. I have a pair of these from Amzn I put in Chelseas which are a bit too sloppy fit in the heel but are fine in the forefoot. I wouldn't walk a long distance but they're okay for a day at the office wear. They're cheap enough to try.

or the last is not right for you. I mean the initial heel slip from a goodyear welt shoe is normal (since bottom hasn't bent to you) but if they continue to slip (and go down size doesn't work) then the last is not for you.

That is also true. I have Viberg Chelseas in 2030 which is their usual service boot last. I got same size in Chelseas as my 2030 service boots and the Chelsea heel fit is just sloppy versus laced boots. They were a sample sale pair so the insert workaround makes them usable. A Chelsea in 2050 is fine after break-in.

I like to lift the foot up into the top of the last rather than try to press it down. A flat 1/4” memory foam insole works wonders for me.

I’ve never taken advantage of the spend $1000 get $500 off sale, and thinking ahead here, (I usually order from the website) does a sales associate pull from multiple stores inventory to fill an order? Or am I limited to what’s on hand for the sale? If the later which stores are stocked the most?
Anyone have an SA they recommend?

So what things are folks planning to get?
I wish I was more excited about the current offerings, but that being said, this is always a good sale for Core/Icon items that don't go on sale. Anyone know what the difference is between once-washed and rinse in terms of wear and longer term fades?

This is what I would do.. Unfortunately, I've noticed this is an issue for me with Rios of Mercedes boots, who I assume is the maker of the chelseas, and only good solution is exactly this
Yes, exactly, the RRL chelseas made by Rios of Mercedes chelseas.

I really like them, so I'll make it work one way or another. Went kinda all-in and got three pairs. Didn't really plan on getting the roughout suede ones (pictured), but found them somewhere for $310 and couldn't pass on that deal.

Thank you, I will order those as well. Will try everything until I find something (or a combo of things) that works best. The heel slippage is not too bad, so I am confident it will be OK :).

These are my thoughts too this time around. Looking through the site, I'd be hard pressed to find $1000 worth of stuff I really want right now, even with a $500 discount. How many pair of officer chinos and field trousers can I squirrel away in my closet for when my current supply runs out?

Nice find at a great price. Those are the exact boots I want to pick up as part of the upcoming sale, rounded out with some rinse or once-washed denim ;)
