I think the most impressive thing about Luck's day was that the Colts were 13/19 on 3rd downs. I read somewhere that the Dolphins are the best Third Down defense in the NFL so far this year, in that case it is even more impressive.

It comes at a different time of the year every year, but nevertheless the day I give up on the Cowboys is an annual tradition. This year it came a little earlier than usual.

Should it not be every year it's a little later because Romo only excels in the last half of the season? I think he starts right around now. The Cowboys are an enigma to me. I'm unsure how so much tinkering and money can produce so much mediocrity. I could understand when they had Testaverde as quarterback but year after year they are, at least reputedly, amassing talent that shames smaller market teams.

I watch the Broncos now to see Manning win thinking it might be the last win. They could have put away the opposition if they were more clinical and they need to improve on that if they are to last in the playoffs.

I'll contribute. His "I know sooo much more than you" tone is so annoying. Who was it (was it Gruden?) who said "Most teams have above average offensive lines" last night?

Al Michaels is great. Collinsworth is a good color commentator during the matches but I can't stand him on Inside the NFL. Maybe it's his face that I hate.

I find the top college announcers to be vastly superior to anybody in the NFL, but Gruden is so obnoxious that I can barely stand to watch the game. He's another one of the ESPN guys that used to be tolerable (if only barely for Gruden), developed a gimmick, then became the gimmick to an extent that you want him to just die. I wonder if he was this obnoxious as a coach.


At one point I commented to my wife last night that I wanted Gruden to be eaten by owls, starting with his tongue. I had just seen a commercial with owls in it. I'm not sure what this means
