Looking a bit of advice, so I wear 30" in most jeans, I size up to 32" on lvc 505's washed ones the fit is on point, but I'm after a pair of lvc rigid 505's should I size up on them as well? I've heard they fit bigger than washed 505s? I know they won't shrink like. any advice?

Go for 31 with a raw LVC. My size is the same as yours.

How many 1947 501 models there are? which are differences beetwen them? i would like to buy a pair on line but it's so difficult to understand all the types... can you guys help me?

Kind of difficult to answer.

The 1947 501 is one specific "model" (cut) of the 501 jean.

Beyond that you have the raw "model" (version) which is unsanforized and will shrink a boatload, but is the traditional way of doing jeans. It should shrink down to tagged size, or slightly below depending on the year of manufacture.

More than that I suspect you'll have various "models" (again - versions) from season to season, be it salt-soaked, rigid, distressed, destroyed, bleached out, etc. These have more to do with the finish than how they're going to fit. Typically they'll be closer as well to tagged size already and shouldn't shrink down when washed.

thanks for your infos, i can't understand why the 1947 501xx looks different in cut and can't understand if they are quite slim or straight jeans, i would buy a pair on line but they are quite expensive so ican't go wrong with them, because iìm a quite short guy and large bottom jeans are not in my style, any suggestion on which slim (not skinny) lvc to buy?

The 1966 501 is going to be more of a carrot shape and I believe it's already preshrunk and sanforized, so it won't shrink down or cause those same sorts of issues as the 40s and 50s models. And too, none of the LVC 501 models are ever going to be considered "skinny" - the '47 and the '54 are probably the slimmest. '55 is traditionally somewhat more spacious, but can be downsized more easily because of the more liberal top block.
