I'm pretty happy with the last Fox flannel SC that NMWA x Carrara made up. I'll likely stick with them but get a softer shoulder and maybe Patch pockets to make it more casual. Can wait until Greg comes back or my next NYC trip and have it for F/W 25.

Would like it half-lined but all the advice seems to be for fully-lined with heavier fabrics.

Here's Crompton's:

What is the process for NMWA x Carrara?

Greg has visited DC the last two years for MTM. Apart from that a trip to NYC would be best.

So Greg does the measuring? I might give that a shot. Anything else about the process different or noteworthy vs other MTM?

Hey guys, sorry for the non-sequitur (and if this kind of thing has been asked/answered, still working on my facility with the forum searching/filtering feature), but any recs for commissioning an overcoat in the area? Looking to get an Ulster coat made in navy cashmere or maybe camel for durability. If the answer is to wait until the next time I’m in NYC in a couple months and have it ready for FW25, all good as well. Thanks!

For MTM Greg will have you try on a suit and pants that correlates to size that fits well. From there he will make notes of where the maker needs to adjustments: shoulders, chest, jacket length, etc.
What others have said. Pretty similar to other MTM. Either wait for Greg to visit DC or go to No Man HQ in NYC. Try on a sample piece. Greg makes adjustments. Pick your fabric and styling details. Then agonizing wait.

I can’t speak for sure, but I’d wager Ezra Paul would make an overcoat. Most companies that do MTM tailoring can also do some outerwear. Worth giving him a call.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
