First wear for the Barbour Beacon yesterday. These look better to me once beaten up a little. Definitely size up in Beacon (was worn by 007 in Skyfall and fits close in typical Daniel Craig fashion). Shoulder, chest, and overall length great but sleeves a hair too long.

@Purplelabel have you ever had the sleeves adjusted on Barbour jackets?

If you wear a thicker sweater in the fall/winter it probably will shorten the sleeves anyway.

I suspect my normal size L would have worked for the sleeves but the rest would have fitted a bit close if I layered. Looks like the sleeves should be easy for my tailor to adjust. I'll take it in soon and inquire.

Awesome ride on this early Fall day. 25 miles now a hummus platter and Port City Lager at Nick’s on the G-town waterfront.

Yikes. PS Bridgecoat from Pvt White now sized to fit over tailoring. Might be too hard to resist. Also, might have to thrift vintage Ted Lapidus Paris pea coat and Billy Reid Bond pea coat!

I bought one two years ago and I love it. I’m a 40 and I bought a size 4. I can never tell if I wished I sized up or not. It’s pretty slim over tailoring and I wear it over jacket occasionally, but I mostly wear it over knits.

On a work trip. Anyone remember this place? Think I’ve been here before? Any help?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
