This conversation completely baffles me. A whole lifetime of using front-loading machines and never had, or heard of, mould issues.

Also head-scratching at the mould issue with front-loading machines. Never experienced it.

Can also find plenty of articles on pinky toe cancer, doesn't mean it is common.

Ours would get mold along the inside edge of the large rubber gasket. Required wiping it out with a cleaning solution then running a cycle with special soap pod that was not for use on clothes. We tried to leave the door open to air out when not in use but our dumb cats were always climbing in.

We live in DC area which is quite humid and likely contributes. YMMV.

For the people that don't get mold, when the washer signals a cycle is done do you immediately take it out? The mold is likely due to some of us not rushing to unload the washer

Have you ever tried letting the cats just camp out inside the washer? Might help drying out the moist and stop your mold issues.

We're not sure anymore. Every time I ask, they push the delivery a few more weeks. It's been so frustrating
