Figured now would be a good time to get some Hedi essentials (who knows if we get another chance) and decided to splurge on the Triomphe Canvas Duffle Bag as I have been eyeing a weekender for a while. Got the bag today and while quality is amazing and I really like the saffiano-like structure of the canvas as well as the very subdued pattern with a slight luxe feel from the gold hardware, I am having second thoughts about size. Got the "medium" one (weird naming when it's really 45cm) since it would fit as a secondary carry on in addition to my Rimowa cabin trolley but now I am considering upgrading to the "large" one at 50cm. Anyone got any experience with this bag in particular or any other ones?

On another note, I would still love to get my hands on the 24 duffle bag from Hedi's SLP days but I rarely see them pop up any more and I wouldn't want anything short of excellent condition. Oh well..

I have the 50 cm keepall from LV in the subdued pattern and use it a lot. It's a good size being large enough to bring weekend clothes or an overnight trip, but not too large where it's ungainly or too heavy. I feel as though I'd miss the few inches if it were a touch smaller, as the way I pack it is I can fold up some shirts on one side and a change of pants, etc on the other if that makes sense at all.

I've been thinking about grabbing a few pieces from the essentials, too, before it changes too much. That, this last season has more attractive pieces than I had anticipated!

I can see that. 45cm is definitely a noticeable downgrade towards 50cm. However, I feel 50cm would be more redundant towards my Rimowa Cabin S carry on considering they would hold a similar amount of stuff. It would also create the situation where I need to decide between one and the other when traveling whereas I feel I could take the 45cm as a secondary hand luggage in addition to the trolley quite comfortably. Argh..

Regarding the essential pieces, I would have loved to add the black leather jacket that was part of the ~permanent collection for a while - however, it seems to be discontinued already. Maybe I’ll try to grab another pair of boots and/or jeans from any of the outlets. A pair of loafers is also missing, which I feel are also quite essential to Hedi‘s Celine.

Anything you’ve been eyeing in particular?

On another note, I am wondering what will happen to the fragrance collection. Pretty much transitioned my whole rotation to Celine, hopefully they won’t be discontinued/reformulated to quickly.

Thinking about it, it is kind of strange that Hedi spent so much time getting Celine to this point (changing the brand, establishing menswear, establishing Haute Parfumerie, adding Celine Beauté, …) just to leave now, that his vision is close to being realized.

Will be interesting to see whether he will find motivation to build another brand like this - be it his own or another established house. Considering his age and point in career, it seems he won’t have to many opportunities anymore.

Those loafers do look great and I can even imagine the chunky ones working excellently. I've had my eye on them but fear they're a bit too forward.

I'm fairly simple and have loved the corduroy Teddy in the past, however, I have the same color way in the classic Saint Laurent version (sized down to 42 which is a nice slim fit).

I've eye-balled the Lou jeans too in the union wash, but frankly, a lot of the new jackets that almost have a 90s skater vibe to me have caught my attention too and I could imagine rotating them into my weekend ensemble or a day off sort of thing.

Received a viscose polka dot shirt from Celine today. Fit is quite odd.

Purchased a 39 (15.5). I usually wear a small, but have a slightly larger than average neck, so have to size up to a 39 usually in shirting, and get the body tailored (38s usually fit better in the body). Assumed this Celine shirt would be slightly large and flowy, however it's still slim in the body, and very tight in the arms. Probably could've gone up to a 40.

Is this standard for Celine shirting? Is everything so skinny through the arms?

Even my skinny ass had trouble with Celine shirts. Normal size was too restricting in the chest and arms while going up ruined the fit. I suppose they were heavily targeting the Asian market in that time.

Yes, 100%, my Celine dress shirts are brutal for my biceps but I love the materials. The chest is tight, too, although the waist is surprisingly normal.

They're so oddly shaped! Glad I'm not going insane haha.

Chest and waist are fine, but yes, biceps are incredibly tight, and neck itself is also quite tight. Agree with RedVelvet. Suspect if I went up one size it'd fit strangely everywhere else. The sleeves are also pretty short, which is odd given I'm 5'8. As you mentioned SirG, fabric is lovely though. It's a really thick viscose in an almost crepe de chine texture which is beautiful. The black colour is incredibly rich. Love the more pointed collar on it too. Feels very sturdy. Just the fit that's baffling to me.

Was going to purchase a brown silk striped shirt (think you own it SirG), classic white dress shirt (love the collar) and a black and white striped one too in a 39 but now having second thoughts...

The corduroy teddy is a great piece. I have the black one myself. The navy blue one was also great, too bad they discontinued it.
