I wear the same size in forest (shell blucher boot) and inca (shell monk strap) - UK8.

My C&J/JL size is UK8.5E. My EG size is UK9E.

I have searched this thread pretty thoroughly and not found a previous post relating to AE 3(333) last compared to Simpson.

I'm buying a pair of Carmina's for my best friend as a wedding gift. The only pair of good shoes he has is on the Allen Edmonds 3(333) and they are US 8.5D. He says they fit perfectly. I am trying to determine if I should go full size or half size down on the Simpson. He says he has fat, wide feet, but the 3(333) is one of the sleekest lasts AE makes (I think).

I may end up buying both UK 7.5 and UK 8 just to be safe and then return one, but any help would be great!

How wide we talking?

Rain is more generous in width and is a soft square chisel. What size we taking about as well?

The 3 last is not narrow. It is wider than the 5 last. I do not own a pair on the 3 last, but all reports I've heard have confirmed this.

There are two different 3 Lasts the 73 and 333. The 73, which you are referring to is indeed one of the widest last they make. The 333, however, appears to be narrower with squared toe box.

Nope. I'm talking about the 333. Do a search in the AE thread and you will find the general consensus is that it fits wider than the 5 last. AE's descriptions of its lasts cannot be relied upon.

Still need some specifics here to help you out. I am a solid E, maybe borderline double E depending on the last. I've tried on the 3 Last in E width, but I need a EE to make the 5 last work. Maybe even find out what width he takes on AE 5 Last, more data will get you a better guestimation of fit.

I am us 8EEE in AE
c&j between uk 7.5 to uk 8 . some lasts uk7.5 a bit tight around my small toe. And all my future c&j will be uk8 unless loafers.
carmina I have 2 pairs forest oxford uk8 and rain single monk uk8
I am glad I didn't go with uk7.5.

When I read some of you size down by 1 full size I really get surprised. Most of you must have narrow feet.

MRMSTL, I'm a 10C on a brannock device, and I wear an 8.5 UK Simpson last, if that helps.

First question: What last is this:
700

Second: Given that I wear the following comfortably, what size would you recommend?

- unknown square toe Grenson after widening in the ball area 9.5 uk
- Forest only as derby 10 UK (Oxford is too tight around the ball)
- Oscar 9.5 UK
- AS 48 in UK 9.5 is a bit tight on the smalles toe.
- unknown pointy but round Trickers in 9.5UK also a bit tight in the toe area

Thanks for your help, guys!

Is it safe to assume that if a 8UK fits me ok in the Forest last that I also would need a 8UK in the Rain last?
