The end of the last year CDiem brand name was sold to Jun Hashimoto (remember wjk? It's him), so this is Juns project now. I haven't heard anything about patterns being sold and actually in this niche unfortunately you don't need to buy a pattern to produce it, you know. I have met Maurizio Altieri last week and he doesn't have anything to do with any future developments of Carpe Diem: I won't quote any of his thoughts on the matter for obvious reasons, so here are just the facts. He still makes m_moriabc and vnapersona is in development.

Serious question: why not? I'm genuinely curious as to what he thinks of his brand being restarted without him.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I may well be)

1.) This isn't a Jun Hashimoto project. Another former CD employee bought the name and this is his project.

I was quoted Jun by several people in the industry several times. I am pretty much sure it's his brand. Which name have you heard then?

Serious question: why not? I'm genuinely curious as to what he thinks of his brand being restarted without him.

Mostly because it's a public forum so if Altieri is ready to express his opinion through public means of information like doing a proper interview he's going to do it. So far his opinions were expressed in private and just out of my deep respect for him I would keep it as such, sorry.

It's definitely not Jun, he posted on his instagram with as much surprise as anyone else. There's also no Japanese counterpart, like Jun was for Mmoria. He mentions they're using the same lasts, same materials, and same factories, so functionally identical to the originals

using the same factories isn't revolutionary. i'm fairly certain is and ma+ use the same factories as carpe. the last just looks more like the wjk version than the carpes. maybe i'm just going crazy.

that being said... i wouldn't mind a pair of those vachetta derbies :foo:

It's possible that out of respect to Alter a lot of stock lists that carry MM won't grab cDiem

also i genuinely doubt this will be the case. or else stores wouldn't have picked up guidi back in the day. businesses are in the business of making money.

the stores will not care, Cdiem is a brand that is still revered and worn by many in this industry.
if its Jun Hashimoto, he was already producing similar garments under WJK with Altieri's blessing.
Some of these WJK products were carried by the same shops that carried Carpe Diem. I dont see it being an issue.....
Actually it might be an advantage

To me it looks like an attempt to promote the brand and add awareness, especially since he calls it "Carpe Diem revival". I won't insist it's him, I haven't neither asked nor heard this name from Altieri himself, it were other people who have mentioned it. However if not him, who else? Definitely not Amadei, Luca or Sara Lanzi. Someone mentioned Issei Fujita of Lumen et Umbra but I guess it's highly unlikely.

Why don't you all just wait it out and see instead of getting all speculative by stringing bits and pieces of info floating around.
