The Guidi 992s came in and are at least a full size too large for me. Seems the soft/washed horse may not fit as small as other leathers. Despite this, the shape and leather are amazing and I briefly considered keeping them and wearing with double insoles and tongue pads.

If anyone spots a pair of these for sale in a 45 let me know!

Well, it's horse, and horse is just a tight, dense, leather. I have thrown front quarter horsehide jackets in the wash on super high temps, dried them in the drier, and they come out, maybe 1/2 a size smaller... maybe. On the other hand, I've seen calf jackets thrown in the wash during sampling, and they go from a reasonable size 40 to a 36.

My reverse horse 017s fit pretty close to how I remember the same in kangaroo fitting, but they might be a tad looser? I don't really know.

Gread looking leather on those, @sinnedk ! You've picked up a couple of great pairs lately (L0). Did your cobbler remove the lowest layer of leather on the heel and replace it with rubber, or just put the rubber on? Awesome boots.

Not sure if you are talking about a1923 or L0 so i'll answer both.

A1923 - removed old rubber heels and added new vibram heels and taps. He did not remove the leather portion, sanded a little as he told me.
L0 - he added vibram front, hells + taps. He also split the back heel for L0 so that it fits and looks like L0. I know others removed prt of the heel not to have the gap but i don't like moving away from the designer's vision.

Yea december put me in equilibrium state, I have ma+, ccp, L0, a1923 all pairs of what i've wanted for years. Now I wait for my LUC-PTC (wait is easier right now because of the other pairs i have) and build other parts of my wardrobe.

I finally got my fitrst pair of Guidi boots. I bought the navy 994 chukkas from Mr Porter.
I noticed the following:
1. Laces- I had great difficulty in putting the soft leather laces in. Only one end was cut diagonally which helped to pull it through. So I used the lace method where one end goes straight to the top hole and the other end goes through all the holes. I find this method not very practical though, to properly open the boots when putting them on or off.

2. The left foot fits great. The right one is fine, too, length- and width-wise. However, I noticed that just before the heel the sole doesn't seem to be properly plane. It feels a bit like something protruding.

Otherwise I'm very happy with them. The leather is great, the shape and of course the craft. I love the nails one can see on the heel of the inside sole and on the outer sole.
Is everybody putting a slim vibram sole on to protect them?

cut the other side of the lace so it is also diagonal, thats what I did for my guidis (or maybe they came that way, can't remember) and I used it like that until the laces snapped, which will happen fairly easily if you try and tie the shoes tightly. As far as the fit, I would recommend a thin insole, it helped me with the annoyance of protruding leather/nails.

So the uneven leather insole/footbed is quite common for Guidi and are more a mark of their handmade craftsmanship and not a defect?
Did you leave your outsoles as they were?

I don't know how common it is, but it a defect that I have experienced, it doesn't seem to effect the shoe much if at all, for the outsoles, I had them vibrammed completely to prolong the life of the boot.
