The breakthrough: at a show in town tonight (the band, White Denim), the gf leans over and rubs the toe of my new, black, Guidi 698s, in reverse horse, and says, "I love these!"

She's been noticing a change in my wardrobe and especially in my footwear. I think she knows I'm spending a bit more than I used to. But it's moments like these where I know it's all for the greater good.

Thanks to all you guys for always pointing me in the right direction. Tonight it all makes sense. :slayer:

So... The welting on my side-lace boots is starting to fall apart after less than a year. I'd go back to the store that sold them, but atelier is not there. Any recommendations? Just go to a cobbler?

From the picture, it looks like the leather has torn near the welt.
A cobbler should be able to glue it back. If that won't work, then the fix is to re-welt the whole boot (sucks I know).

Oh that sucks man. The leather ripped i that area and will be a difficult fix.

Maybe post this in the shoe care thread http://www.styleforum.net/t/228153/the-official-shoe-care-thread-tutorials-photos-etc and see what they have to say. I am sure people had this happen and possibly fixed, you may even get a good suggestion of a cobbler.

Anyone know if it is possible to send this back to MA+? Maybe there is a way through either retailer or email to contact MA+. Im sure they don't want their quality questioned.

If a person is unable to take care of his hands he's surely unable to look after his shoes properly. So no surprise that this happened.
