Yeah, saw that on Darklands maybe a week or two back. It was swamp dipped or what not; really interesting colorway and the first time I've seen it. They actually were there for a week or so before the stock ran out. The white colorway however, sold out in like a day. Thank god Campbell contacted me as soon as the shipment came in, scored myself the only size 6.

A1923 Double Zips.

Horse oil, and buffalo.

I like the buffalo a whole lot more than I thought I would. The toe is slightly more pointed than this season's horse oil, and the dark color and grain really make it a beautiful boot.
Of course, nothing needs to be said about the horse oil.

These boots are so great.

My biggest problem is all my denim is bootcut, which looks terrible with this style of boot. Pants, here I come...

Regarding Vibram,

I think I will try my local cobbler, if he seems competent when I meet him.

What in the way of special "instructions" can I give him?

Such as:
- Don't do anything to the boot, like polish

- Add thin layer of rubber to the front of boot (right over leather sole)

- Add thick rubber heel, after removing first leather heel section. (can this leather sole be kept for future use?)

- Don't add heel taps (I'm not sure what they do and if I need them)

I've heard talk of keeping the "balance" of the boot, but I'm unaware if I should mention this to him, and how it should be worded.

Thanks gents!

Those are really nice looking this season indeed. You can war them for a while before adding Vibram. They will sand off a slight bit when adding the Vibram anyway. Maybe just avoid snow and rain until they are protected.
Swapping out the leather layer from the heel stack rather than putting rubber overtop is all you need to know about balancing. You just want to keep the profile the same by doing an even swap of material.

As far as denim goes, yes get something slim that stacks. That will look best with this style boot. Zam Barrett, Devoa, Lentrian all do twisting seams in a J shaped leg that stacks beautifully and are object dyed so they will match the subtle color variations in the boot leather.

^^ congrats man! Please more close ups of leather when you have time to compare buff vs horse.
Regarding cobbler - yes on all points but research the one you wanna use! your averige neighbourhood cobbler will say yes and do his own thing despite. You need someone who has worked on high end boots ( and it is still not a guarantee). Re balance - Not to alter the relative height balance between the heel and the front outsole.
Enjoy!
