It isn't because they are suede that they don't work with a suit. It is the style. 

The shoes in the link would work with a suit (depending on color). I would wear them business casual, but I do not wear oxfords with jeans.

I really like these a great deal... after a number of wears, how well do the keep their shape; do they crease significantly?  Thank you for sharing and for your feedback!

nephew, thank you!, if you use shoe trees and follow the shoe care procedure these shoes will last a life time. shell creases less then calf, lack of creasing or creasing is effect by your feet.

Does anyone not use shoe trees in unlined suede?

I just got a pair of PTBs on Leydon and, as silly as it sounds, I feel like the shoe trees--even a size smaller--will stretch the suede. I noticed a thread a while back where people said it was no big deal, so I figure this is a made-up concern. Still, I thought I'd ask.

It's not silly. I have the same concern and given that the suede doesn't crease nearly as easily as cxl and other types, I forego shoe trees.

Chinos and Jeans. I love Alden suede and have both the unlined dover and wingtip boot.

Instead, loosely stuff the suede shoes with some rolled up old socks or face towels. Keeping the form while not stretch the shape.

ok.....I need some help.....I think I know the response that will be provided, but are these redundant?

the ravello boots were preordred several months ago and I just lucked into the whiskey LWBs eariler this month.....I am having a difficult time rationalizing keeping both

on a related note.....as a newbie to boots......how long does it take the "collar" to break in?

I am just not used to wearing shoes that come up that high on my ankle and am not sure how long it will take to feel "normal".

@ATLVol I am completely with you on this whole Boot thing!!! I am just getting accustomed to these things wrapping around my ankles. I really struggle with stairs and find driving odd like that...

Anywho, I do not know, if rarity was the sole factor, I would keep the Ravello WT Boots. They are much harder to come by than the Whiskey LWBs, not that those are a walk in the park either. Also, it is probably a nice change to try out some boots, however odd they may currently feel... They will grow on you. I had no boots only a few months ago, that has been rapidly changing...

But if possible and you can financially afford it, you may want to seriously consider keeping both. Both are fairly versatile and beautiful footwear...

You'll grow to love both of these classics and you'll develop your own wear patterns for both....shoes for some outfits, boots for others.

Since you bought them both, you obviously like them both. If you sell one now, you want it down the line, and assuming you can get it, you'll end up paying more for it than you did now.

If you can only keep one pair, keep the boots.

Boots all day. Those look great! Keep them.

Unload the LWBs. IMO, ditch them because they are not an ideal shade of Whiskey. You'll get an opportunity to pick up a better shade in the future. I have rejected two pairs of Ravello shoes because the color was funky.
