Holy Grail Material!
Timing is everything-gotta catch it at the beginning of Credit Card month! However it's been a stretch for the last several months since I got the shell bug!His Closet = filling up
His Wallet = much thinner
Welcome to the Forum! Holding out for restock in my opinion is not a good move. The forecast for restock of shell cordovan in any color is bleak, but rare colors is pretty much not happening for the next 12 months or if ever. Depending on your shoe size...your best bet is to call or email as many Alden stores as you can. It's worked well for many of the forum members. Check eBay too. CXL and calf leather are great options too, but even those can be hard to find depending on your shoe size. I'm sure others will have their tips too!Dear Alden-aficionados,
I'm looking to jump into the wonderful world of Aldens. I don't really own any nice dress shoes and would like to try and find the most versatile pair for casual to business-casual wear. Something to pair with some cuffed N&F denim and Epaulet Rivets. I'm rarely in a suit jacket, and the dressiest I get up for is the occasional wedding or work dinner. The office environment is very laid back (advertising) so not trying to go too far on the formal scale because I want to wear these often!
More of a blucher man, and the NST and LWB seem like the obvious choices. I'm a little torn on color and leather. This would be my first foray into higher-end footwear, but the way I see it, if I'm about to drop $500 on calf leather or CXL, I may as well try and nab some cordovan, right?
Seems like the popular colors are also in short supply (ravello, whiskey, cigar). Should I try and hold out for a restock or used pair of these, or stick to some brown CXL or calf? There's something about the shine of shell cordovan...
Thanks, friends.

Well the 1684 Whiskey Monk straps got cancelled by TSM. Their inventory was wrong. Glad I ordered
some other Whiskeys today!
See Ya,
