uncle, which bar lacing method did you use on your marlows? can't find a bar lacing for 5 holes w/o the laces being seen underneath

I'm one of the guys who don't find much use for cordovan boots with leather soles - those times of the year when I wear boots it's usually all slush/snow/etc. That said, pics like the above are truly inspiring, and maybe I'll reconsider and see if I can extend the timespan for wearing boots just to be able to put on some of those beauties

I'm with you. Most of the Alden boots are really shoe boots, dress boots, rather than real boots. That's why I also recently bought a pair of leather Red Wing 9016 Beckman boots (with a commando type sole) to use as real boots.

The Alden Indy boot comes close but I still prefer a sole with lugs/tread for real boots esp. in inclimate weather.
