Walking by Union Square in San Francisco, some dude on the street complemented me on both my Indys and my Gustin jeans. Not too surprised about the boots, but very surprised about the jeans.

I have never had anyone complement me on my Alden's by name. I am okay with that and them not knowing their price.

Just curious, do you actually know any "Alden people" outside of this thread?

Other than the few local retailers that carry a very limited stock of Aldens, I don't really know anyone that is familiar with the brand.

I do know one, my boss. He saw a green box in my office and got really excited. He wears the tassels and full-strap pretty regularly and occasionally the 2145.
I think he also wears a bunch of AE.

Outside of him, no one.

I have come across a few people wearing Indies and suede LHS, but they weren't even acquaintances.

DV, those are legit shoes. I had the opportunity to buy them from the retailer but have no need for an "E" width. They are imported from an overseas obscure retailer.

I'm with you DV. Something surface-level is off. Mike said he knows who they were made for. At that crazy price, I'll pass and pick up multiple pairs. Personally, I like a WT boot or Moc Toe boot on Plaza like you've posted much more than a Cap Toe, which I feel like looks better on a round last like Grant.

I have twice in airports.

I had one friend that said to me, "Hey I love those burgundy wingtips you wore the other day. I had a pair of Florsheims like them decades ago and haven't seen anything like them since. What are yours and where did you get them?"
