The perfect cigar indy makeup. I'm on the list for the next order with Yenni.

From left to right (sorry for phone photo):

10E, Aberdeen
10E, Tremont
9.5E, Barrie
10E, Grant
10D, Barrie
9.5E, Trubalance

1000

I am a "true to size" 10E. All of these shoes fit very well in my opinion. The "longest" is probably the 10D barrie, and the "shortest" is the 10E Aberdeen (though I think the aberdeen is the best fitting for me). The "widest" is the probably the 10E Tremont with the Trubalance right behind it (I tried a 10D Tremont before, which simply didn't work) with the Grant and Aberdeen being tied for the narrowest at various points of the shoe. In general, I strongly suggest adjusting widths, not just lengths, to get the best Alden fit in the various lasts...

Also, when it comes to Barrie/Trubalance at least, any size D is very close to being the same size as the next length size down in E.

Left: 10D in trubalance
Right: 9.5E in trubalance

1000

The left is slightly longer/narrower and the right is slightly shorter/wider, but not really enough to make a difference in the fit of the boot.

Question:

Have any of you guys noticed appreciable fit difference in your shoes with weight loss and weight gain?

No, but I have an associate who lost a dramatic amount of weight (~100lbs) and he went down in shoe size.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
