J. Crew captoe boots made on a last OTHER than Barrie?
I bought a pair of the J. Crew captoe boots and exchanged them due to a defect. When I got the new ones home, it occurred to me that the soles look considerably narrower than those of my Barrie LWBs (and I think, narrower than the boots I turned in). J. Crew's website still says the boots are on the Barrie last. But is it possible that they are also making them on a different, narrower last? I'm not sure if the numbers on the inside of the boot would answer the question - I tried googling them and nothing of interest came back.

Not sure what your LWBs look like, but pay attention to the welt on both shoes. My whiskey PTB's have an all around welt that makes them look a little more substantial than a shoe with a closed welt like the Jcrew captoe boot

Thanks, maybe you need some longwings next!

I'm in on the next preorder with Steven for the #8 LWB with the antique edgetrim & I can't wait 'til they arrive.

Looking sharp!

Yes, amazing! It's the last piece I want in color #8

I hope to get a makeup of this shoe on the Plaza ala oneshoe style :foo:

I want to liberate those #40 Indy shoes thought I already have the 405s. I can justify that, right? :nodding: Right?

Congratulations all - even I'm surprised by how quickly anything in my size vanished (having the site posted only yesterday, and I checked it out this morning).

Well, I picked up two things both in #8. NST (10.5EE) and quarter brogue cap toe boot (11.5D). Neither in my known preferred sizes, but I'm going to try them on and see.

I've always admired the NST, and had thought about getting it in Cigar, so I am very doubtful about keeping those. Also, I bet the EE will be too wide.

For the boot, thinking that if I can wear them with thick socks and the length doesn't make me trip over everything, I might get some commando-style soles put on them and just wear them no matter what the weather.

At worst there's only return shipping to pay.

Or people can feel free to PM me and, if these don't work out for me, I'd be happy to move them to a fellow SF member at cost.
