Good evening gentlemen. I’m watching the football game tonight and just grateful that I’m not in Cleveland. I got an email today from Crockett & Jones. I know this is the Alden thread, but I wanted to share this link with the regulars in this forum that love Cordovan. They are offering up four different limited edition pairs of shoes. Two of them are penny loafers - both Cordovan. One is green and one is blue. They look pretty cool. The two pair of boots that they’re offering are also Cordovan.

Here is the link:

Is there any difference between "Chamois" and "Oiled Nubuck"? Without any evidence, I've been thinking that "Chamois" refers specifically to the Horween product, while "Oiled Nubuck" allows Alden to use other producers if they want. However, they seem to be used interchangeably by the stores. For example, model 9474C is described as described as "Reverse Tobacco Oiled Nubuck" by Alden SF and Alden's catalog, but TSM, AoM, and Leffot describe it as "Reverse Tobacco Chamois". Any insights would be appreciated.

Those are next level!

Speaking of six-eyelet chukkas, I believe that I have seen someone post pictures of a reverse chamois six-eyelet chukka a couple of times. Does anyone know who sold this? Alternatively, has anyone made a six-eyelet chukka in kudu? I'm thinking that either of these would make a great boot for hanging around ski towns.

Not aware of any kudu versions but Madison did this reverse tobacco version a few years ago:

And Lost & Found has a reverse earth plain toe currently.
