Hooray!

Hooray!

They aren’t as orange as the tan alpine, but they are more orange than brown.

Here’s a closeup under a lamp.

That's nice of you - thank you!!!! This is just what I was looking for...I was not aware of Leffot - what a cool store! I read a story online that it is "a top shoe shop in NYC" - WOW, that's saying a lot...they did a special makeup for their 15-year anniversary - it was a Alden LHS loafer in color 8 with crepe soles and an antique edge - it looks like a triple sole to me...a very cool shoe...I've got the store bookmarked now...thanks again for pictures!!!! (this was the makeup they did last year https://leffot.com/products/alden-d2208-preorder )

Just ordered a pair of indys in snuff suede, super excited

Nice. I’m mostly a shell guy but I think far too many people on Alden suede (particularly snuff). Congrats!

No, please no.

A crepe sole on an Alden Color 8 LHS is a crime against shoemanity.

Strong disagree. That lhs was great and I regret not pre-ordering a pair.
Same. I actually saw a pair in person at Leffot (not my size unfortunately). Beautiful makeup.

For sure - I emailed the owner of the shop and told him if he did it again. He could pencil me in for a pre-order.

Since I don’t have any rare shell in my collection - do you think it’s OK if I refer to my new Alpine grain loafers as rare calf? LOL

Wish Alden would open up the factory for a special tour like AE does for their annual PATP.
It’s every bit as cool as you think! Like a step back in time. Visited a few years ago, and remember seeing the Old Bronze jump boots sitting on a rack.

Couldn’t really tell what leather it was, so I asked, and got the quick story. Apparently they were supposed to be Christmas presents for some of their best retailers, but had issues in finishing and ended up delayed.

The boots that were sitting on the shelf looked VERY different from the ones that got delivered. Unfortunately never grabbed pictures as we were asked not to and didn’t want to be rude.

Amazing! That's such a a cool opportunity! Maybe one day I can visit the facility! Horween in Chicago is also another destination I would love to visit.
