I have grown to love black shell.

Great minds my-man. It is the only shell color I did not like when I first got into the game. Now, while I don’t wear it often, I have come to enjoy the shade.

I think black shell gets a bad rap, but I really love the look.

Very special green box delivery today. Picked these up off of eBay looks like it was a 2022/2023 makeup that the seller ordered the wrong size.

Ravello is the color that made me fall in love with Alden all those years ago when I couldn't even dream of being able to afford Shell (or Alden in general). I've been waiting 15 years to finally get a pair of Ravello and these are perfect.
Also, my first pair of Commando which I have never really liked the idea of but we will give them a shot and see how it goes. I will probably swap to brass eyelets (and maybe add speed hooks) when the time for a resole comes.

Couldn't agree more! Black Shell can be very polarizing, but I've finally come around and love it's depth!

This made me laugh, but I get what you mean. I'm wearing the "Shogun" boot from Brogue and Mack is the one who got me into black shell boots, saying they pair perfectly with denim. The picture you paint is what always came to mind when he first told me this.
