You’d have to wear them really really hard for those nicks to be an issue down the road. If that is the extent of the defect, I’d consider myself fortunate and happily start wearing them.
Agreed. My brand new shell ends up looking like that within a couple wears, and I can always bring it back.

Thanks all. I’ve had plenty of AE and a handful of Alden over the years so I generally know what to expect. Glad no one saw those as real issues

You can try deer boning it with a shoe tree inside so hopefully the dent pops back out and filling in what’s left with wax to diminish its appearance. Otherwise, I think it’s small enough to let it ride. Like the others said, you’ll probably have other nicks and rubs along side it after some real wear.

Finally a pair of cap toe #8 seconds popped up in my size. Unfortunately the reason they’re seconds seems to be 2 small nicks in one of the toes

Guess I’ll have to decide if it bothers me that much, or if it’ll just blend in with wear. I’m not to concerned about them having an issue down the line but who knows. View attachment 1901009
How much did you pay for these?

Those nicks are a non issue, I put worse than that on first wear :)

@marklin and those Perf Cigar Caps is a tough act to follow. Good grief those are beauties. I’ll try with a bit of humor. Forecast in the Burg is for 70 degrees so I pulled out some light loafers. Was trying to decide which way to go and just as I’m taking a pic my wife walks in and said ‘are those the same’?

I responded ‘of course not’. She stared for about 10 seconds and walked away while shaking her head and muttering something about me needing help.

I mean c’mon man. Those shoes aren’t even close to being similar.

Totally different! Not even the same brand, right? Looks like a Crockett & Jones on the left (ie right foot).
