@jpm1 hope you’re feeling better post-surgery
I am actually searching for the perfect reverse tobacco boot myself. I have considered each of these. First, I like the Ealdwine version b/c I like the berry stitching on the reverse tobacco for a little pop. But, I don't fit Barrie. Also, I find Barrie to look like snow shoes on my feet - similar size to you 8.5D on most, 8D on TB. I actually think TB looks slimmer if it doesn't have a storm welt/reverse welt. With a flat welt, it's not as bulky looking. I also love Grant. It's my favorite boot last, slightly ahead of Plaza.
My concern comes down to sole. I don't like wedge. I also have a lot of Commando sole boots and think I am looking for something different. I think the best option for me is likely the Cyrus boot from B&M on Grant, although it's not available now and not currently taking orders. It's an NST instead of an Indy (I have a few Indys and U-tips already). I also love pull tabs for getting my boots on. This version is on double waterlock too, which I've never tried, but really like the idea of. I like that it's handsewn also. When these come around again, I'll get on a pre-order.
My perfect would be the Cyrus, but with the berry stitching and 4 speed hooks. I'm too lazy to get that started with a retailer, though, so I will just buy the Cyrus when it comes around again.

Indy's are a bit casual, they are a "work boot" after all. That being said, Indy's on a last like Plaza ARE a dressier boot and could be worn with a suit. How about a cap toe or jumper type of boot with a suit, I have done it many times, or a wingtip boot. Heck with either you will have the nicest footwear in the meeting, and 90% or more won't even notice you have boots on.I find myself looking for a suitable to wear to work in the winter. I'm mostly business casual but occasionally a suit as well - and would definitely consider it a bonus if the boots could be worn with a business suit as well as chinos or denim. I really like the shell chukka or Indy's. Despite the general idea that they're too casual for a suit, do you guys go ahead and do it anyway and find it perfectly suitable?
You got some cool boots, dude!Thank you Sir! That welt and sole combination is so sweet.
Thank you Sir! That is a helluva compliment coming from "The Boot King". I am humbled.You got some cool boots, dude!
Well, I don't deserve the praise, I'm just a guy who likes boots. You always post kick ass boots, and I think that's great, keep up the good "work".Thank you Sir! That is a helluva compliment coming from "The Boot King". I am humbled.
