After some use, here are some Alden boots: black shell WTBoots with leather soles. CXL WTBoots with commando soles. Both medium width on the Barrie last, but that CXL is softer and expands so much more. It almost looks and feels like two different lasts at this point! Of course, the welts are different too, so that contributes to the different looks as well.

Stopped in B+M on my lunch break and saw these in person today, look great. Yenni also told me that Alden wouldn't be making any more tan scotch grain makeups other than what's in the current pipeline. What a weird company.

That's odd, I wonder why?

Ravello LWB are one of my favorite models. Gets much more wear for me than the 975.

My "Lucky" Cigar LWB today!
Great LWBs gentlemen!
Nice! That run was a great shade of Ravello. I have a pair from that batch and they're like golden red/brown in sunlight. You wear them well! Enjoy..
Thank you good sir.

They are about 4 years old. I would say that they were always very light for cigar and got a little darker with time.

Quick bump for our color 8 plaza captoe gMTO, please see full design below with photo for example. We have 7 confirmed participants and several potentials, we only need 5 more to put this order through! The design is confirmed, so there should be minimal wait time to production. Please PM me if you have any questions!

This is an order through a reputable vendor that I've successfully done gMTO through before, the final price will be inline with current 4060 prices ($710-$730). Confirmation + delivery is somewhere around 8-10 months from time of submission, nonrefundable deposit is $200, balance due on delivery. International shipping is possible, with applicable fees.

Design:
Plaza Last
Color 8 Shell
Straight captoe
Black edge, 270 flat welt with closed heel
Color matched all metal eyelets
Double leather sole

700

*Our design will have all eyelets instead of eyelets + hooks shown with these boots

Thanks,

Dan

Weird, indeed. I was really looking forward to a tan cc ptb in the future.... possibly.... but i guess not anymore. It makes missing out on this boot sting a bit more now haha

Great boots! I should be getting mine today and can't wait.

It's unfortunately they won't make more use of this leather, it's a pretty fantastic casual material. I hope Yenni's LWB and LHS in this gets through before the door closes.

I spoke with Yenni about a month-month and a half ago in regards to this. She mentioned that her tan CC makeups allocated all the remaining leather Alden had in stock. From the sounds of it Alden may not order anymore country calf, which is sad.
I really do want to cop a pair of lhs in tan cc to go along with these boots.

@Zennypoo Dan, I'm super jealous you're getting yours today. I recently told Yenni to ship everything to me via UPS so I won't see mine until late next week. I will NEED to see pictures!

@KPDarb Leffot ran some tan CC PTB but I believe they are all sold out. You could however go on the hunt for preowned...Here's a pic of the Leffot jawns

Hey buddy, glad to see you on SF. This is how I got bitten by the shell bug. Be careful. It's addicting!

AoM 40218HC #8 Barrie Commando Antique Storm Welt 9D. This seasons boot, not sure if I am so enamored with the Commando Sole. Shoot me a pm if interested .. I might part with them. I believe they were 782 plus tax and license. Haven't posted in buy and sell yet as ambivalent on the sole. They feel hard to me vs regular double leather soles. Do they ever loosen up? This is a stiff shell as they don't show any roll.
