What does classic movies like The Raging Bull, Footloose, Bonnie&Clyde, A streetcar named Desire, Rambo, Die Hard, and Channing Tatums break-out movie Step Up, have in common?

The tank top.

A Hollywood staple for men doing everyday things; setting of explosions, gun-blazing, car chasing, and dancing as a way to cope with internal struggles.

However, as to help us avoid the Tony Soprano wife beater-esque vibe, or the GymBro-crowd, im putting forth some questions;

What brands are prefered?
And what should be the basic rules of actually being able to wear one?

...and so the only legit and respectful way to wear a tt is honest fambly guy style.

Also, unless used as an undershirt, I can't help but think the term "wife beater" is totally accurate for this look.

They look great if you're in really good shape, but no in between.
I purchased one recently to work out in, tried it on but still not quite there

It will hang in my closet as motivation. ?

Disagree. I would say it's a classic piece. Especially underneath cuban shirts, and more so during the summer months.
