Hi John welcome and sorry for the slow reply I didn't see your post and I will now enable email subscriptions.Hi all. First post, and I just wanted to send a shout out and thank you to Moostyle for your informative comments. They led me to joining this forum.
May I ask, are the Goral soles easy to clean and relatively long lasting. I do not have insane expectations but the lactae hevea soles on the Crown Northamptons (huge dirt magnets + they harden and chip off + dont last long at all) are driving me insane and deal breakers for me.
Any thoughts please, guys?
Thank you
I have had no issues with the Goral soles so far in terms of wear. I can only agree that the Crown Northampton lactae hevea soles are just absolutely overhyped crap... too soft and too delicate to stand up to normal usage.
My favourite Goral leather so far is the Adria Mastrotto, its a really lovely pebbled texture and creases are far less visible than with smooth leather. My only annoyances with my Gorals are that the navy blue leather is a bit squeaky. With all my Goral Mellor II I did the following:
1) Added a custom orthopedic sole which works wonders for comfort.
2) I swapped the flat laces for round laces which makes them more smart casual.
Goral also told me that:
1) They are working on a dark brown sole colour for next year (which I would love to have paired with Adria Mastrotto dark brown leather).
2) They are developing a Hi-top version of the Mellor II.
I would also like to see them develop a version of the Stanley without the front toe strip, but they seem quite resistant to doing that.
