I haven’t logged on much in the last couple of years, but I’m back because my normal bespoke tailor has apparently gone off the rails. Lots of inexplicable mistakes, bad fits, etc., so I’m getting a divorce. I figured I’d come back here, to the source, to get recommendations. I’ve tried many of the usual suspects with mixed results, hopefully y’all have discovered some new blood.

Mostly interested in odd jackets and trousers. My favorite jackets in the past have been made by Italians, although Italian tailors are also by far the least reliable. I live in the south and work where it’s hot and humid, most Savile Row guys seem genetically unable to make a jacket light enough for my tastes.

Location is not really important, although I’d prefer the USA or Europe. A tailor who travels to the US periodically would be fine, but isn’t required. I’d prefer to stay away from Hong Kong if possible - long story. I also prefer to stay away from certain tailors who are now affiliated with retail shops as I find they often can’t keep up with demand (see: the Armoury and a certain beloved pant maker).

How important is full vs half canvas to you for heavier sport jackets?
