Which blue is the strand in? I'd be tempted to make an AE purchase for the Liverpool in that.

Fully lined presumably?

Anywho here's the patinated OG Natty CXL Higgins of previous mention.

I'd love to get a sole like Truman's Eugene but I don't believe they make them available stand-alone.

ETA: they must have pulled the post from their FB page, nothing there about a trunk show..just some dude on a boat and then a park ave.

I just found out that both of the blue colors for the Liverpools come with black elastic instead of brown… honestly? Totally kills the vibe. Not even sure I want to get them anymore lmao.
No........ I envisioned cosmic blue with antique/light brown (whatever we call it these days) flat welt but with the elastic being brown not black. It might rule me out too. I'm not upset about it though, I get it, there have to be constraints somewhere.

I googled “blue suede Chelsea boot” last night and most of the top results had black or blue elastic. I guess that’s kind of what’s popular, but brown would have been a much more “me” spec.

I don’t want my AEs to look like a pair of YSLs or similar, you know?

Yea, I'm with you. I personally wouldn't be wearing it with black either. I guess with grey slacks the black elastic would work but then I'd have to go black edges which is not the style I want. I rarely wear black. Usually in jeans or khakis nowadays.

Yeah. Not really a fan of blue shoes with black pants in the first place.

I would mostly be wearing blue Chelsea’s with earth tones or blues.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
