The cut of the Grayson is not good for my flat feet. I like the 97 last for a LWB. But I just flatten the shoe and bow it out. Acheson has a more casual tassel for my non suit attire. If you have an arch, the Grayson might be good for you.

Thank you. I just read about the differences, and it seems the Grayson is more pointed. I think I prefer your Acheson.

Not for me. I love the look of the Cornwallis, but I can't get the 1943 last to work.
It depends on how they construct the Dundee. My Dundee Shell is a 2.0, but since it has a full leather insole, it fits well. If they do a Poron padded insole, the Dundee won’t work for me.

I really like the concept of an austerity LWB. But there is something about the Williams that turns me off. I even asked women at the AE store, what they thought while their husbands and boyfriends were buying even uglier sneaker type stuff. The women just weren’t feeling it. View attachment 1944757
They all liked the Acheson over the Williams and when it came to the Randolph bit, they definitely liked leather sole over sneaker bit. View attachment 1944759
Yet they sat quietly as their worst half was making a Fugley sneaker purchase. Women please, speak truth to your partners.

I have an austerity lwb on the speedwelt and it's nice, but that looks like gross j and m garbage. Ugly tan shoes with no artistry or style at all, looks visibly low quality, too.

Would anyone here consider the Dundee or Cornwallis drop?
If they offer a suede option for the cornwallis which I doubt. I know many have issues with the last but it is my favorite. Fits perfectly. I have 5 colors I believe of the cornwallis so I am not sure what calf color could sway me. Dark brown suede cornwallis and I won't even look at the price tag.

I would buy a Cornwallis in like… every suede color known to man, even though they won’t fit great. However, suede is a long shot.

The Dundee..? I can just get an Alden chukka if I really want one. They’d have to be a really special material for me to get a pair, considering I have the snuff and navy suede chukkas already.

Loafing off to pick up Chinese takeout. Major eBay score last week: three pairs of Made in USA, Cone Mills, Levis 505s (now hemmed to Dad Jean level excellence).

Just sitting taking a peek at my credit card bill. Looks like I am paying for a trip for 9 to Puerto Rico. Why am I always the last to know? Cambridge gives me peace of mind during these times.
