Something to do with the Costco deal maybe? Although, seems like that boat sailed in Oct/Nov when it went from ~$50 to $60+

I haven't checked in on this thread in a while. I'm getting antsy with all my cash. Need to take on some posishunz but I've been sitting on the sidelines and missing dem gainz.

Everyone needs VISA, so it's a solid stock/company.


Visa has a pretty fantastic market position, but I'm not sure I agree that "everyone needs VISA". And while I'd certainly agree that (I assume) it's a very stable security to invest in, the fact that it's a well-established company with a solid business model doesn't necessarily make it a good short or long term investment. It appears to have traded between $48 and $70 over the last year or so. It's near the high end of that right now. That's not to say that it's not a good investment; it may well be. Perhaps it's undervalued and the "fair" price is $95/share. But a company can be stable as a going concern and still be overvalued relative to its future prospects.

You can loosely consider it an income stock. It's not paying a big dividend, but it does increment steadily, almost like a non-cyclical. I think everyone should have a little V, MC and AXP in their stack.
