Hello, I may have posted on the classic side by mistake as I think this thread is more appropriate. I bought an orphaned suit jacket because I mistakenly thought it was a sport coat. I want to wear it smart casual with jeans/chinos, etc. However I am not sure it looks right as the fabric feels very luxury and dressy / sleek and maybe not heavy enough to wear as an odd jacket?

It looks like chino with a sooty effect up close so is not so formal in style.

I am new learning my style so some opinion here would be a big help as I don't want to look like "orphaned suit jacket guy":

Can this orphaned suit jacket still work as odd jacket/sport coat?

I saw this zzengna jacket on offer and mistook it for a chino sport coat. It did not appear obvious to me it was orphaned from a suit. It has patch pockets, no breast pocket, no cuff buttons and is unstructured with no padding. The fabric is very thin and luxurious cotton/wool blend and up...

I love this coat. It's ridiculous. Teddy alpaca coat.

The enormous lapels feel like a hug and a built in scarf.

Fortunately, you managed to cover your legs, next time make an effort more and wear some footwear as well.

Just spent 4 days in NYC for fun, wore a couple of suits most of the time, from slice shop to subway to Lincoln center. It was nice to be someplace where nobody even noticed.

Recently acquired what looks like 70s sport coat from unknown roman tailor. Surprisingly lightly constructed I would say on par with my recent jackets which is quite news to me.
