^@clee1982, it's the hat that's green.

@dieworkwear, I asked you for advice on where to get turtlenecks and was considering a Lockie for Ben Silver merino one at the time. Instead I got a cotton one from Amazon, since I was thinking it'd need to be washed often as I commute by bicycle. I do have some others, like the one in the pic above. It's a chunky ribbed merino from J Crew, 22+ yrs old. I also have some other mall brand, thin merino ones from BB, Banana R, and Nordstroms. They're all fine imo. Still kinda hungry for the BS Lockie. I wish Land's End still made their seamless cotton turtlenecks. Here's the BB one w/ a vintage velvet jacket and Gurteen cavalry twills:

You asked about t-shirts earlier. In the pic above w/ the linen suit, I'm wearing a hemp blend from Onno. Below is a simple Gildan poly blend from Joann fabric. Both are great imo, but I'd also wear nicer tees from NMWA, like paper Kaptain Sunshine or linen GRP.

Cross Post from CM Casual thread.

I feel that due to the structure of the tailored jackets in my current stash (particularly fall/winter) I will best be served leaning more western/vintage to achieve this look. I like this "tailored streetwear" concept because it allows one to have a unique appearance and feel comfortable whether he is in a casual (museum/dinner/grabbing a drink) or a relaxed business setting (dressed down office attire/after work event).

Also, I wonder if this thread will turn into a WAYWT for "tailored streetwear" which is too structured for the Streetwear thread and to unstructured for the CM Casual thread?

Finally, a good alternative (in my view) to the Husbands Paris flared pants are the Wrangler Dress Jeans (pictured here, size up two sizes if you go this route). Although not as flared and sleek they still promote a similar vibe.

I'd say it's fine to cross-post, but a large part of the reason I enjoy our "streetwear" WAYWT-thread is the sheer variety of everything from tailoring to shorts and sneakers, so I wouldn't want this thread to lessen that.

Nice fit too, wish I could get Wranglers here in Sweden for the kind of prices you can find em in the US but as of now I'd have to pay around a 100% mark-up so haven't ever taken the chance on em.

This is a casual suit made for me by my partner in a tencel and linen blend with a boxy cut. The textile is very soft and has great texture to it and I think that together with the non-traditional colour keeps it from being too formal. I picked these khaki translucent buttons to go with it that I was enamoured with and added a bunch of hidden pockets in the suit jacket and one in the trousers' hand pocket. These little details make the suit special to me.

The shirt is a nice textured black linen that has grey bars vertically scattered through it. Both the shirt and the suit are very light and I can wear them here even in the warmer months. I like wearing this suit with tees as well as white linen button ups; white shirts seem to bright it up a lot as a look.

Great thread. I was just talking with @el Bert about this general topic a few weeks back.

Also, regular old white t-shirts can look good with suits, sets, set-ups, etc., IMO, assuming we’re not talking only about the most CM-adjacent of the category (e.g. Camoshita or earlier Antonio-era Eidos—as opposed to those amazing last 2-3 seasons where he started doing what he wanted). Insisting on pairing fancy short sleeve knit shirts with casual suits sometimes feels a bit affected to me, like a CM mentality trying to “dress down,” which is still approaching the whole thing from a CM mindset.

And I say all this as someone who’s actually a fan of Camoshita, fancy short sleeve knit shirts, and Camoshita fancy short sleeve knit shirts.

That's pretty cool. Is your partner a cutter/tailor or designer? Did they cut/ sew the suit or design it?

I want to hear more about the hidden pockets.

There's a drop pocket behind one of the front flap pockets, and a zip pocket for my wallet inside (or anything valuable you don't want to slip out from a open pocket). Multiple open pockets inside as well, has a lot of carry. The pants' pocket is just a secondary pocket bag in one of the hand pockets for carrying something separate.

That's pretty cool. Is your partner a cutter/tailor or designer? Did they cut/ sew the suit or design it?

It's from one of her lines - ROSEN-S, that specialises in custom-made casual tailoring. She designs the clothes and has them made by professional tailoring workshops. This one is the Daily Suit, which comes with a boxy cut and a few fun practical features.

Gracia is your partner??? How did I never make that connection? That's awesome. In my limited interactions with her she has always seemed such a great person, as well as super talented and, let's face it, gorgeous.

So what are the odds that Brendon Babenzien's influence on J crew will push the streetwear tailoring into view. Will have influence if it does?
