I think it looks pretty decent. Obviously the slacks are too short, as are the sleeves (at least to my taste). Depending on how short you want everything, there are two things to worry about:
1) Can the slacks be let down enough? Forget about a cuff
2) What will the sleeve buttons look like after you let down the sleeve? They might be getting a bit "up there", since they already are a bit far to start.

More generally, I don't like that fit, but if that's what you're going for - it's fine. I'm a strong proponent of natural shoulders.

Interesting I would have said sleeves are definitely Not too short, pants might be open to interpretation, if he wants no break that looks just about right with loafer, though feels like the whole posture is too un nature to judge, i.e. Pretty sure that's not how he normally stands

The jacket has no alterations done, the pants were hemmed. I prefer little to no break, but it looks a little odd in the picture. I hiked up the pants weird and I agree I look like an idiot standing like this (first time taking a picture of myself). I think the button stance is alright but could be better, the armholes are a little low for me.

Just wondering if anybody had alteration suggestions to take this from a decent fit to a pretty good - good.

I don't think there's any "correct" sleeve length, since it's a dynamic thing. For my taste, the shirt sleeves are too short, and the jacket sleeves, relative to the shirt, are too short as well. The jacket sleeve APPEARS to be above his wrist bone, which is short. What do I know though? I think this

is too short.

Honestly, I think that suit is a little frumpy if you want that sort of look. It wears like a short but more or less otherwise traditionally cut suit. It's fine though - I'm not one split hairs on a $400 suit.

I went to Suitsupply in NYC the other day.  I was so excited after reading so much about them on here/other reviews.  I have to say, I was thoroughly underwhelmed/not impressed.  The customer service was utter crap.  I felt like I was in a ghost town.  I'm thinking that they send their work out for tailoring, because nobody could give me a straight answer as to whether or not a pair of pants could be let out or not.  People would leave to "find out", but then not come back for 20 or 30 minutes.  Eventually I left with nothing in hand.

The staff in the DC store are pretty attentive and knowledgeable. I've been In there over 10 times and only walked away without buying something a couple times.

I appreciate the honesty. And I agree, and its the problem I have with Suitsupply. The arms and silhoueette of the 38L fit me better, but the jacket and sleeves are too short and shoulders too narrow. The "stylist" wanted to put me in a 36 or 38L where the sleeve length was an inch or more shorter... I'm all for a non-frumpy fit, but it seems that you have to go one way or the other with their fits.

I wonder if I could slim the arms and maybe take the jacket in a little if it would help, but it might just throw the proportions off. I'll try to get a better picture with a tie and oxfords and see if a decent outfitting makes it look better

You can definitely do both. Taking in the jacket should be easy to get a successful outcome. Slimming sleeves, in my experience, is hit or miss. Some tailors charge a surprising amount (at least relative to waist suppression and stuff like that) to slim the sleeves.

I think it looks fine, and you should feel totally comfortable wearing it. :fonz:

You might try their low end MTM option. It's not very expensive and you're not looking for huge changes, so they're unlikely to screw it up.

I'd stick to John Smedley. I decided to go for cheaper alternatives which I quickly wore out. However, my sweaters from JS are still beautiful and in pristine condition. Even the once that are almost two decades old.

Thanks for the input. It's hard, based on their website, to know the difference between their dozens of models. They have numerous v necks, crewneck said, and cardigans, but don't even list the weight and fit. Have you found certain models that stand the test of time? I'll consider sticking with JS.

Just picked up a new dark blue Lazio 40L. I'm about 6'1 165 or so. Used to be a bit more muscular and around 170+. I think once I get back into shape this will fit me a bit better as it will be filled out a bit more and drape better. Let me know any criticisms on the fit. I'm hoping I can alter a few things and that other Suitsupply 40L's will fit me as the price can't be beat.
Too tight in the chest. It should be closer to a V shape. Did you try a 42?

Does anyone here have a website describing the different fits? (More like a review)

I am considering buying a suit online (I dont have a store in my country) and I already have a Washington fit jacket. I really like that.

I love Washington have a fashion forward style, it suits my personal style perfectly... If I really like washington, which other fit would appeal to me? I am a quite natural build, not muscular or fat. Just a normal EU 48 (US 38).

Looks great!

That first suit is lovely. What is it called?

I really love lapels like that, is this a typical suitsupply style or only few models have this width?

The blue pinstripe is a Lazio. It is noted to have wider lapels on the website.
