There are going to be a series of 3 events in New York hosted by Styleforum and its affiliates.

On Friday, September 18, we will have a party starting at 7 p.m. at Epaulet in Brooklyn, which will be followed by karaoke (not my idea) at a nearby place.

On Saturday, September 19, we are going to have an afternoon meetup at CEGO in the Flatiron district, followed by an evening at Self Edge NY, on the LES. I hear that there will be some sort of whiskey tasting (which means drinking, but more dignified) at Selfedge. I'll be at all three parties, and I hope that you guys will be there too. I'm really that Foof gets some jeans that disappoint him less than do his 45RPMs.

There will be beverages at all places. Probably most needed before and during the Karaoke. Kunk and Mike (of Epaulet) are apparently going to go all out. I expect Edmorel to show up and not disappoint, and Manton said that he'd deign to grace us with his presence at at least one event.

Anyway, thought that I'd open this thread up for suggestions, questions, random comments.

Please vote in the informal headcount (a pinned thread) so that we can plan accordingly.

Here are the latest party details:

Great idea.

But the name is too plain.

I like the idea. How about we tweak your suggestion to something more true to the spirit of Styleforum and call it MC and SW&D's Excellent Adventure.

Nvm. For a minute, I thought we might know each other; a childhood friend's brother is named Fok.

As it happens, I have shows in New York on the 18th and 19th.

So if anyone feels like a show before or after... I'm at WNYC's Greene Performance Space on Friday the 18th at 8, doing a live taping of my radio show The Sound of Young America, with guests Andrew WK, Scott Adsit (30 Rock), Nellie McKay, Rik Cordero and Kumail Najiani.

Then on Saturday I'm at the UCB Theater at 7PM with my comedy podcast Jordan Jesse Go! as part of the Monsters of Podcasting Tour. We'll have some special guests there... looks like probably (no promises) John Hodgman, Jonathan Coulton and Jim Gaffigan.
