They're both boots, I guess.

The EP chelsea isn't SLP-level sleek, but it's a little more in keeping with lasts you see from some MMM or older CPs (IIRC they made the CP last sleeker at some point); a little more casual, a little less tapered and elongated. I kept holding back on the SEF chelseas because I don't think they'd necessarily look that great with jeans and more casual stuff.

Epaulet just seem a little bulky and I wish the soles matched the uppers. That said, if they made a side zip with that shape it would be pretty great.

Big high toe box

What you've posted is more of a hiking boot

But the Epaulet dorks will love it. I guess somebody is buying it

And the KTT fuccbois will shun it. So in the end, everyone wins. (j/k...mostly.)

For real, though, I actually have a pair of Blundstones I wear as winter beaters. I didn't have them with me at the trunk show when I handled the Epaulet chelseas, obvs, but I can compare them when the Epaulet chelseas arrive. Offhand I can say that Blundstones are bigger everywhere - more bulbous and structured toebox, wider shaft opening, really thick lugged outsole. I'll hopefully be able to pick up some SEF jodhpurs once the milkshake suede drops.

Don't waste your time. Next year we can see Hedi making chunkier boots and everyone in this thread and the SLP one will love chunky boots all of a sudden.

To be fair, SLP already makes combat boots that are more chunky, consistent with the heritage of that style. The classic chelsea boot on the other hand is supposed to be sleek/tapered and go with slim pants as part of the mod aesthetic.

I thought Chelsea's were a work boot. Like a ranch hand type of boot. I mean if we're limiting fashions to their origin then, you know...

I don't know about limiting fashions to their "origin" per se, but I think it's fair to say that chelsea boots (and beatle boots) are iconic of 60s mod style, and those chelseas were sleek enough to go with drainpipe trousers, slim suits etc.

I'd rather be a KTT ******* than someone that has even ever heard of the brand blundstone . wow those are horrendous

and if your SEF's arent casual enough/dont look good with jeans... then you're wearing the wrong jeans and they probably arent meant for you

What are the rubber pieces that come with the chelseas? Are the made to be attached to the forefote on the sole or the heel?
