Comes in hoping for more Steak-pron from Te0o - leaves disappointed.

Did a decent rare fillet tonight myself but feel I've had someway to go before posting photo's on here on the same calibre.

Ask and ye shall receive.

A modest Irish Longhorn from tonight.

I was in Florence the other day and visited the legendary Trattoria Sostanza.

This is by far the best bistecca experience in the city, everything is superb - the taste, the atmosphere, all the other dishes, I'd eat there every day if I could.

Some shots below. Proper rare meat, the way it should be. They are true cooks!

Excellent restaurant - and how else should a Fiorentina be?
Was it Mario in Florence who had a sign that it is forbidden to ask for your bistecca to be more cooked?

Gallaghers in NYC for first time. Great old school steakhouse vibe where you can tell the waiters have been there since the 80s or even earlier.
Did the porterhouse and bone in ribeye

Gallagher's is strong to very strong. It is especially good at blending the old school feel of a Keens or Lugers with a more polished feel. It also gets points for its proximity to broadway (disclaimer: I hate musicals).

That being said I prefer Keen's for old school and Porterhouse for something more polished. Hawksmoor is also on my list of current favorites.

All that being said, the current best steak you can eat in NYC is not at a steakhouse. It is at "The Grill", which has been my favorite NYC restaurant for years.

Those guys do everything well. Great BBQ too. I've been scheming with my son to pick him up in Dallas sometime and do a weekend trip to Austin to eat till we bust. In Dallas, we can walk from his dorm to Knife, and generally do!

I used to love his dry-aged steak videos and one day he disappeared. Apparently, it came out he used to mingle with the white supremacist crowd so he stopped doing steak/meat videos.

How do you feel about 4 Charles? Is it worth jumping through the hoops to get a table?

Had some A5 rib cap last week as part of a tasting menu. One slice and it was plenty.
