Afternoon all

Thought I'd add a few pics of my current SpTDs:

G&G Savile, on square deco
G&G Isham, on MH71
AM Centurion In Janus suede, on soft square - this was originally an MTO

As was mentioned earlier - the split toe on suede is much less noticeable. The split on this AM centurion is, frankly, disappointing. It's barely noticeable, and it still bothers me - especially for near £1k incl trees.

Looking now for a grained SpTD (isn't everyone?! I blame @vriche !) - waiting on my first Yeossal MTO to test sizing; interested also in ACME, OctTenth, etc.

Aaaand, please excuse the mess in the spare room ?

Wow! There's a split on those suedes? So hard to notice, I'd be disappointed too.
Yep - hardly worth it. It was my last AM experience, and probably why I'm not looking to go back to him.

I had originally enquired as to whether they could do their RTW centurion (polo suede) but in dark brown. They said yes, "for a special customer".

NOTHING was confirmed, then literally about 10 months later I get an email from Angela saying "my" shoes are ready, with a pic.

I didn't want to sour the relationship so I paid for the shoes, thinking maybe I'd want more shoes from them in the future. Expensive lesson to learn that one.

I've got Equities 2 in Polo suede; and Decurion II in museum grey from a GMTO - but I cant see me getting anymore for a while.

Anyway, yes - suede split toe ******.

Sorry to hear about your experience with AM. I did recall seeing this story from B&S. I really think you should communicate with them about the situation. Antonio and Angela are both very reasonable, I am sure you should be able to get it resolved.

Regarding the "special" part, I am not sure about the exact timing of your order, but back then, one of the workers that did all the split toe sewn left (that's why AM stoped releasing new SpTD models for quite a while), that could be the reason why he referred as "special".

Thanks @Encore - you're probably right, and I dont want to speak too badly of the brand. I thought I was over it, but evidently I'm still a tad bitter ? Maybe I will reach out and just respectfully voice my disappointment.

And you have a scary memory!

And thanks @boot_owl - appreciate that. A suede SpTD with vibram insert (as my Centurions are) or wensum sole is a fantastically versatile all season shoe.

Well I messaged you several times (both eBay and B&S) back then as I quite wanted to buy it.....I didn’t get any response from you so I ended up buying the polo suede one from AM directly......

Oh sh*t I'm sorry about that @Encore - I havent ever really got good at selling on SF. But nevertheless, I am sorry I left you hanging.

FWIW I love the polo suede ones ?
