Thought I would mention that I picked up the Olive Teba recently and feel quite positive about it. I note that there appears to be almost no Teba feedback on here and these seem to be selling relatively poorly. A shame!

In brief, I feel that it looks far more elegant than the typical “shacket” and has far more versatility for being dressed up or down. In particular, the button stance seems to sit very well with only the middle button fastened. The sizing, by my account, is TTS with the sport coat sizing. The sleeves are a bit longer.

The linen used drapes well and feels quality - if, perhaps, not as nice as the very heavy linen that showed up last year on some of the suiting and field/safari jackets.

Downsides: there is (what appears to be) fusible on the front panel of the jacket. I also assume that the ‘lapel’ is fused. This is akin to the safari jacket construction, I think. I also note that the classic Teba lapel buttonhole has no matching button - ie the collar cannot be closed unless you add a button.

At ~$200 cad it’s a pretty reasonable buy. I think it’s a great pattern and I hope Spier takes advantage to make some nice FW tweeds or finer summer offerings in future years.

I also grabbed the Hollywood trousers and am quite happy. Curious if anyone picked up the 100% silk gun check sport coat as well. Very curious to hear feedback on the latter.
I wear the navy all the time, even when doing some light hiking. It's a great piece and I, too, wonder why nobody else seems to be buying one.

I just got 31 identical emails and there is nothing in my cart. Unsubscribed.

Looking for opinions on full canvas for sportcoats and suits. I need to revamp some of my wardrobe and for the first time have enough saved up to purchase probably 2 suits and a sport coat. Im not in a huge rush but I messaged spier via instagram and was told there were no current plans for a full canvas promo. If it’s worth getting full canvas maybe I’ll just hold out and see if they do anything later in the year but if people think full canvas isn’t worth it I’ll probably order sooner. Appreciate any input either way.
I like my full canvas navy in Cavendish cloth. It fits well and drapes very nicely. The jacket definitely feels like it has more structure and heft in the chest. My only regret is that I don't wear it enough.

What about colour, is it the same as on pics?

I can’t say I am super confident about my appraisal, but I would say the actual colour is a bit darker than the product pics. The pics are clearly under bright studio light. Read darker as both tone, as well as a lower green vibrancy. It’s a relatively deep olive with a brownish hue underneath.

I note I haven’t really seen this thing in strong sunlight.

Convoluted enough of a response for ya? Lol

Thanks for the review.
I was waiting for the Teba discussion.

Does SM RTW jackets come with functional jetted and flap pockets?
you mean the tailored jackets? Yes, the pockets are all functional although sewn quite tightly. A seam ripper really helps with opening the pockets.

There seems to still be a lot of variation within the same size in S&M suits/jackets. I’ve tried three SS23 Contemporary suits on and two of them have a waist measurement in line with the slim offerings. The shoulders on two of them are also narrower than the other suit I tried.

I know the factory can’t be perfect, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.
Has been my experience as well. When I brought it up to S&M customer service, they had the audacity to deny it as if I'm crazy. I just don't get the point of being precise with measurements if the measurements are not followed - irrespective of tolerances.

Anyone with this year's cigar linen care to share a pic? Interested in the fabric that begins with FH86-C9767. Thoughts on the fabric and the colour?
