Guys, any idea when they’ll be restocking their High Rise High Twist Wool trousers in charcoal and medium grey?
Afaik Spier has never "restocked" an item ever. If you're lucky, though, they'll re-release the color you're interested in this coming Spring/Summer. They do release a batch of high-twist trews every year, though they're not always from the same mill.

They did restock a pair of black tuxedo trousers recently.

I think the closest to a restock I've seen is I asked them to notify me if something came back in stock and like a month later they sent me an email that they got ONE back in stock haha

Anyone who bought these Hardy Minnis sharkskin trousers,
https://www.spierandmackay.com/product/dark-gray-sharkskin---high-rise-738-c5840-hr-01-fw22

how much sheen there actually is?

I know sharkskin typically shows sheen, but from the site images it doesn't look like there's sheen at all. On the other hand, images on S&M site...

@DonRaphael, If I remember correctly, you had something very similar in your collection?
I had a suit made out of that fabric, yes. It has a slight (minimal) sheen. Nothing obnoxious, but rather tasteful. Not even visible from a couple of feet away. The surface is smooth with minimal texture however. Personally, I wouldn't use any of the pieces as separates as it'd run the risk of looking like orphans. There are better gray options out there if you're looking for odd trousers, imo. As a suit, however, it's a great addition to any formal wardrobe and a staple.

I like spiers offerings but frankly I won't ever understand how they don't just always stock maybe 20-30 standard offerings at all times and then do smaller runs of their seasonal and niche clothes. It's a bit mind boggling to me that I can't reliably buy a 38r slim suit in a standard color most the year. Core suits, a few classic sportscoats and universal wool trousers should be available in almost all sizes all year, in my admittedly limited experience opinion.

This is correct, but @JTrent82 is also right. Spier doesn't really restock but generally releases core items year after year. So I would expect HR High-Twist as Spring 24 stock starts to roll out.

This FW they did get short-shipped by their supplier on a few items (merino polos, for example) and those were "restocked" once their supplier caught up.

I am really tempted to get one of the Aran sweaters right now. Does anyone have any sizing advice? I love the way they look. I am usually a 36s slim in Spier. Also usually between a XS and S in most places. The shoulders coming in at 15" for a small seems VERY small (my SNS herning sweater comes in at almost 16.5" for a small).

Thanks ! that's helpful. To my eye, they pass as separate trousers, but I trust your real-life experience with the fabric.
What other gray options would you recommend? Ideally, I'm looking for gray/dark gray/charcoal, some texture but not overly bold, winter-weight.

Sounds like the VBC coverts fit the bill. Textured but not bold and available in your colors. They've been very versatile odd trews for me.

The trousers in question is from Minnis Crown Classics bunch book. That's basically Minnis' book for formal worsted fabrics. The fabrics are intended for formal suits.

As for other options, the obvious choices imo would be either VBC charcoal covert twill or a heavier flannel, preferably +340-370g, imo. The former has a slight sheen, but nothing that would keep me away.

With regards to the latter, if you're both a suit and SC wearer like me, there are some great and cheap MTO flannel options for suits that can be broken up so the trousers can be worn separately. Obviously, that would run the risk of the trousers getting worn out before the jacket. But if you have the means, get two trousers. That's basically what I've done with all my gray flannel suits ranging from mid gray to charcoal. That way I have both a suit and odd trousers to be used with my SCs.

My personal favourite for FW suiting/odd trousers however, is fabric from Dugdale's English Town and Classics bunch book. The fabrics are heavy, around 435g, hard wearing (they'll last you a life time), drapes like an iron sheet, has some resemblance of flannel visually while not as variegated, looks more sober than flannel and holds a crease very well compared to flannel. The thing with flannel is, if you're looking for the specific look a woolen flannel offers, there's no substitute, ie the variegated effect. But the downside is that it doesn't hold a crease well relatively speaking, it'll sag at tension areas (some flannels more than others), ie knees, and it isn't the most durable fabric.

Spier doesn't carry Dugdale's English and Town Classics fabrics, nor are they available on the website. But they can be acquired through MTO.
