For something organic, I really like Corridor's overshirts. Epaulet's super-popular Doyle is a good bet, too.

Personally, my fave is Mission Workshop's Pratt but that doesn't look like at all the same vibe you're going for.

@hoodog I always think those sort of coats look way better in pictures than they do in person / in motion, but if you've got the sort of vibe that can make it work, they do look really cool in pictures.

@1up To add to the several good suggestions so far: Pointer / LC King makes nice chore coats that aren't too expensive (although "reasonable price" varies from person to person, so they might still be more than you're looking to spend, usually around $120-$160). I really like their Barn Coat.

Is this Plaza last by Alden versatile? I've been looking for a pair of suede loafers for a long time, from Bauodoin & Lange, Barbanera, Meermin, Castaner, and everything in between.

The Alden Van last is a little too rounded to my eye but in some photos online it almost has the same shape as Bauodoin & Lange. Granted the length of the shoe can change the shape perception (i.e. depending on feet size). Saw this Alden suede loafer on the Plaza last and has a more appealing toe shape. A few photos online reveal the Plaza last can be a great option for boots.

Still, the Bauodoin & Lange is very attractive. I am cognizant of the fact that since I am a big fan of Eidos and Italian casual dress in general, I may be brainwashed from all the menswear spreads online with the tapered, no break pants falling so elegantly above the shoes. And although I enjoy dressing like this for work I do more than occasionally like to wear jeans and more casual pants. Understandably I may need more than one pair of loafer to fit different dress, so, I need some help narrowing it down to two versatile pairs. Barbanera does some great work too except they do not seem to offer a suede loafer this season. Anyone?

These are the Alden on the Plaza last btw. It maybe too sleek to wear with jeans perhaps but I can imagine it at home with odd trousers and a tucked OCBD or the like. I especially like the side profile. The color is versatile too, it is snuff suede I believe. I have other loafers FWIW, Lemaire almond toe in black calf, Barbanera "AKC" in deerskin, Christian Kimber navy suede. Need to add some brown colors in lighter shades, tobacco and tan perhaps. Not sure how I feel about dark brown suede.

It's simple and plain, which means it will never look bad but also rarely look remarkably good. There's a place for that, and if that's what you want, go for it. If you don't, there are LOTS of suede truckers on the market these days.

It's not a bad pick. Since it's Mr. P, worst comes to worst you can order it, see if you like it, and return it if you don't.
