I was in a Johnson and Murphy last week with a co-worker who was looking for a pair of shoes for her husband.

every single shoe I picked up felt extremely poorly constructed and/or had style features that I felt detracted from the classics asceticI I prefer and I thought they were going for.

it would be a pass for me.

I’m considering this knit blazer. From pictures the lapels seem far too narrow, at least for a blazer but does the knit aspect change that?

I’d envision wearing with nearly always with jeans and some darker chinos.

thoughts or credible alternatives?

^^Too cardigan-like, as to knit blazers in general, I have a black one from Lanvin that I quite like, it's also more blazer-y than the AE one.
