I'm US40/EU50, usually M in most western brands (occasionally S), I'm often L in Asian brands. I think I could still find things larger than my size, but not much (maybe up to US42-44 in most cases). If you're US48 you'd likely have to do MTO/MTM, which is not impossible, some tailoring brands/stores can take your measurements and send the garments out in a few weeks. Length may be an issue in more casual garments but tailored trousers may come unfinished with enough allowance.

Shoes RTW are often stocked only up to size UK9-ish. I'm UK8.5 and I could already feel the limited availability compared to smaller sizes. Unfortunately if you're above UK10 you'll likely have to MTO/MTM too.

Either way if you're already going there for vacation, I think it's worth checking out the stores mentioned in this thread. If you plan to have a shopping trip, it might be a good idea to contact the stores you're interested in beforehand in case they have your sizes or can accommodate MTO/MTM.

Whew the shoe thing is true. A lot of Japanese brands stopped out at 9.5 US sizing. That said, as an XL (43" chest) and 36" waist I found more stuff than some one might think. Especially coats and shirts given the oversized craze in Japan. I was looking less at tailoring than places like Blue Blue Japan, United Arrows (Camoshita), Beams, denim brands, etc. though.

So tailored clothing is all that is relevant to me, I guess I should have figured when you said "tops" and "oversized" you didn't mean collared shirts.
So to be more clear because I think it's my fault
16.5-37 shirts
36x34 pants
US size 44L or XL (depends on the brand, I'm right on the line) suit

would they have it?

I wouldn't even bother with shoes, I'm in bespoke anyway and would need a US 14 if I weren't.

Gotcha! United Arrows does have suits and such. But the only traditional tailoring place I went to was Ring Jacket, which did have suits and sportscoats in at least my size (44R US / 54 EU sizing)

Ah man, Ring's clothing looks perfect but it's all 3 inches too short. Well, that likely settles that, I won't go with an eye towards buying clothes while I'm there.
