^ Now those are nice. They also get extra points for being creased. If my monitor is reliable, they also appear to be black, again a rarity in these parts. I'm happy.

Wow. Very nice, and it's very helpful to me in deciding how to do my next shoe, which are going to be black captoes of some sort.

I figure they're slowly being broken in on a carpeted floor. Unless people are no longer content with extreme antiquing and have resorted to artificial creasing!

WOW, thanks! But one question: I can't wear anything which is coloured gold. Are there silver nails and toe cap, too? And would it look as good as they do now?

AFAIRC he uses the standard 6mm, but as he mainly caters to the Japanese market i think the displayed size was smalish.

Stunning shoe, best pair of black shoes I have seen in a long time. Even if the last is not my personal favorite.

Its brass, a softer option than the steel taps. both can be ordered. The contrast would be bigger. From a couple of makers you could then opt for a thinner tap. As for the nails, the steel nails would wear much slower than the rest of the heel, thus creating a heel that would be VERY slippery on stone floors. On wooden floors you would also leave substantial marks. The choice is yours. HTH Speed

Actually, those toe plates are brass-coated steel.

The 'gold' will wear off and the 'silver' come through.

Just tore them out of the box and had a quick go round the living room. A tad wide but I new that would be true (I have b-width feet)- but it'll be winter socks for these anyway.

Sorry for the crappy pics but it's I have the time for at the moment.

RBWB1's in Dark Cognac/Bombay calf; 42 last, storm welt, triple leather sole.
